Padilla Elementary School
Providing every student with the keys to open the doors of their future.
A Note from Principal Purfurst
If you know of someone interested in enrolling at Padilla for next school year, please have them reach out directly to our School Secretary, Yuliana Perez. She can be reached at 303-655-50105 or yperez@sd27j.net. The enrollment process can be confusing, so connecting with Ms. Yuliana will help simplify the process as she can point people in the right direction!
Padilla is accepting enrollments for Preschool, Kindergarten, Grades 1-5, and students who are open enrolling!

An Update from Dean Hawkins
Drills This Week:
There are no scheduled drills this week.
CHILL Grade Level Assemblies March 29th:
During these assemblies we will be reviewing our CHILL Key expectations in addition to awarding our ARTIC Awards winning students for the third quarter. We will be streaming this assembly to parents that would like to take part (we will be letting parents know ahead of time if their student will be receiving an award!). We will also be using these assemblies to inform students about CMAS prizes etc. in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.
Discipline Trends:
Our bathrooms continue to be an area of concern for 2nd through 5th graders. Some students, both boys and girls, continue to struggle to treat the bathrooms with respect as we continue to find messes in stalls, countertops as well as the floor. We continue to revisit this expectation as well as create a new system to help keep track of who is going into the bathroom and when. Please help us by reminding your students as well about the need to treat the bathrooms with respect. Thank you so much for your time and help!

Adult Learning
Last week teachers reflected on the use of high stakes data and formative assessment data. They used their grade level resources to intentionally plan for formative assessment. By intentionally planning opportunities to gather and analyze student evidence we are able to ensure that we are providing data driven, high quality, small group instruction.
Cub Club Update
Last week Cub Club members wrote scripts for the tours they will be providing new families and students who are interested in seeing our school. In their scripts they included information about our CHILL keys, paw tickets, bear tickets, Polar Bear of the Week, their favorite meals, and their favorite thing about Padilla. They are very excited to share our wonderful school with new families!
