mass reflections
Below are some reflections of our All Saints Day mass earlier this week, as told by our fourth graders.
In the homily, I learned that although we make mistakes, no matter what, God will always love us, just like Father Gordan’s uncles. In the homily, Father Gordan talked about his two favorite uncles. Although they were never married, they both loved each other dearly-but sometimes they didn’t show that. Sometimes when he came to visit them they would be in the midst of an argument, or they would just be straight up ignoring each other. Yet Father Gordan sat there with them and the two uncles would have a conversation with each other, but through him. The same thing is with us, God, and the saints. Sometimes we distance ourselves from God, but when we pray to the saints, they will strengthen our bound with God again. So, no matter what, God will always love all of us, just like Father Gordan’s uncles.

Father Gordan taught me that no matter what we do, God will always forgive us. He loves us no matter what. God will never ever get mad at us. God will never give us what we want, he will give us what we need. When we grow up, God is always watching over us. God gave us a life, a home and a roof. Don’t forget- love God, praise God, and don’t forget God. He loves us no matter what happens.

The homily taught us that the saints are very important people in Heaven. We can pray to the saints for forgiveness and for help. No matter what we do or say, God will always forgive our sins. It isn’t about what we want, it’s about what we need. God will give us what we need not so much what we want. Even though not all people are saints in Heaven, we can still pray to them for help or to do something. The saints intercede for us for our own needs and forgiveness. As Father Gordan said, we need people to be peacemakers. We can bring all people tougher as the saints once did. That is what the Homily meant to me.

incidental billing
Our school currently uses the Incidental Billing feature in FACTs management. This allows us to bill for things like field trips and student activities by class. We are also billing for extended care through FACTs as well. This does not affect your tuition account at all.
If you use before or aftercare you may be familiar with this feature already. If your class is ordering lunch, or attending a field trip, you will be billed for the cost instead of having to send the funds into the office with your student, or making a special trip to the school to pay. If you have auto pay set up on your incidental billing account you do not have to do anything else. If you have questions about incidental expenses please call Mrs. Brown in the school office or by email at sbrown@stjosephwhschool.org

St. Gemma Galgani Book Box Service Project
In honor of St. Gemma Galgani, the patron saint of students and 6A’s adopted saint, Mrs. Holland is coordinating a service project where students are turning recycled computer boxes into interactive story boxes that will be donated to preschools and special needs classes in our community. These boxes will also contain a QR code with a 6th grade student reading the book, bringing these books alive for the children reading them.
Please consider helping by donating one or more books from the wishlist below to help our students continue to serve their community!
