International Baccalaureate Program Update
This morning the International Baccalaureate Program released its latest update regarding the May 2020 examination session.
In short, no exams will be given and in place all students' Internal Assessments (IAs) will be submitted to the IB by April 20th. The IB will then grade the IAs and award course grades based on the student's internal assessments, predicted grades supplied by the teacher, and other comparative data done by the IB.
Previously, the IB granted an extension for all work, but is asking for this work to be completed by April 20th if at all possible to issue results by July 5th.
I believe that we are in good shape as most of our IAs have already been submitted to the teacher and I have uploaded them to the IB.
There are a few courses, notably sciences, Spanish, and German that have IAs yet to be completed. Teachers will be providing to students an updated timeline for when these IAs should be completed.
It is imperative that students turn in their outstanding IAs by the deadlines set by their teachers.
Please read the IB's FAQ update via: https://www.ibo.org/news/news-about-the-ib/covid-19-coronavirus-updates/#examinations
The IB Program is aware that this is an unprecedented situation and is working diligently to ensure a fair process for students.
