Week of March 30

Fort Bend ISD will extend the suspension of normal district operations through Friday, April 10 in an effort to support the nation’s need to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please continue to monitor your email and visit the District's website and social media channels for more information on plans to deliver instruction and information on our feeding program. Student Online Engagement Begins March 30
Online engagement to launch the week of March 30, formal instruction April 3
Although many FBISD teachers have had informal contact with their students during the past two weeks, during the week of March 30, teachers will launch our online learning experience. The first week online will be a lot like the first week of the school year – setting norms and expectations regarding what online learning will look like and making sure students and their parents have the tools and ability needed to participate in online learning. Formal instruction will begin April 3.
Please have your student log into Schoology and begin engaging with their teachers. Below let's you know how many times a week content will be posted for students to interact and engage in by subject. There will be two types of learning taking place asynchronous and synchronous. See below to understand the difference between the two.
Asynchronous vs Synchronous Learning
Student Online Learning Expectations
Teachers will begin sharing information through Schoology for your student. It is important that student's log onto Schoology daily to see what is being posted. For this week, we will begin with re-engagement activities. This will be done to re-engage students in school and establish norms for online learning. Curriculum assignments will begin on April 3. More information will be share by your individual teachers.
Math and ELA teachers will post activities daily next week. Science and Social Studies teachers will be posting twice a week, and Elective teachers will post one time next week. Look for messages from your child's teachers for more specific information. Please be advised that students and their parents will be able to do their schoolwork on a flexible basis to accommodate the schedules of their parents and teachers.
Student and Parent Online Support
We want students to have an engaging and successful experience with online learning, and the following tools are provided to assist students in the online learning environment. These support tools consist of technical, program and application-specific videos, guides, training, chats and more to assist parents as students need support at home with engaging in their virtual classroom.
Additionally, FBISD has set up a Let’s Talk group to receive your questions and feedback about online learning support, 24 hours a day. An online support call line will also be available soon.
