Founded by William Penn in 1626. One group that was in Pennsylvania was the Quakers. Products in Pennsylvania were iron, grain, and lumber. Was clarrified its independence in 1706.

Before they made an official flag with 51 stars, there was a flag with 13 to represent the 13 colonies. States such as Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.

Found and owned the country of Pennsylvania.
Although born into a distinguished Anglican family and the son of Admiral Sir William Penn, Penn joined the Religious Society of Friends or Quakers at the age of 22. The Quakers obeyed their "inner light", which they believed to come directly from God, refused to bow or take off their hats to any man, and refused to take up arms. Penn was a close friend of George Fox, the founder of the Quakers.
