CCA Superintendent Mr. Kuehl is leaving district for East Union and Murray School Districts

Clear Creek Amana Schools Superintendent Tim Kuehl is leaving the district to head East Union and Murray School Districts as a joint superintendent starting July 1. East Union is located in Afton and Murray is located in Murray, Iowa. Kuehl was one of three finalists to replace East Union and Murray Joint Superintendent Ken Casper, who will leave June 30 to become superintendent of the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura school District in Garner, Iowa.

Kuehl has served as the superintendent of Clear Creek Amana Schools since 2013. His prior experience includes serving as the superintendent at Gladbrook-Reinbeck for five years and as an elementary, middle and high school principal at other school districts. Kuehl stated, “My eight years as part of CCA have been a great experience. We have accomplished so many great things for our students. While I’m excited at the new opportunities before me, I will miss many of the great CCA staff, students, and community members that I’ve been fortunate to get to know and work with.”

“I would like to thank Tim for his leadership and service to the Clear Creek Amana Community School District for the last 8 years,” said Jen Mooney, CCA board president. “I wish him the best of luck on all his future endeavors.”

How did a CCA High School Science Teacher Influence the Musical Career of a 1997 CCA Grad

In a recent "Big Sky" musician spotlight story, Luke Flansburg, a 1997 CCA Grad credits Mr. Muhlenbruck for teaching him how to play guitar. After 32 years as a science teacher for the Clear Creek Amana High School, Mr. Muhlenbruck will be retiring but his legacy continues on in more ways than just science.

"He names Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem as early influences and the drums as his first instrument. He later learned to play the guitar through his high school science teacher, Brad Muhlenbruck. The Tiffin, Iowa, native took the foundation Mr. Muhlenbruck provided and ran with it."
