JMS Curriculum In Action Night - Save the Date - 5.11.2022
You are invited to Jefferson Middle School's annual "Curriculum in Action" night on Wednesday, May 11th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
This event is an opportunity for students to dialogue with their parents about what they have learned this current school year, and for parents to see the many and varied opportunities for teaching and learning. Class work representing all curricular areas will be displayed, presented, and/or demonstrated to provide parents a glimpse of the wonderful academic programs that Jefferson offers.
Please note that this program is not an opportunity for individual conferences with teachers regarding your child's progress. If you wish to speak with your child's teacher or team, about their progress, please do not hesitate to contact them by phone or email at your convenience.
Before we know it, Teacher and Staff Appreciation 2022 will be upon us. This year, on each Friday in May, we will be honoring our 90 JMS Teachers and Staff by celebrating them and conveying our gratitude for everything they have done for our students these past two crazy years!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
- Take time to send a handwritten note or an email from you and/or your child telling a teacher and/or staff member (or several) about something great that they have done for you personally and/or for JMS students.
- Choose something to buy from our Amazon Wish List that contains items we will be distributing in May.
- Volunteer via our Sign-Up Genius to provide a breakfast item (donuts, bagels, juice, yogurt, coffee, etc.) for our teacher/staff breakfast.
- Finally, our four committee chairs will also be accepting monetary contributions to support our Teacher Luncheon catered by Zorros and our Cupcake/Candy Bar. You can reach out to any of the four of us personally about a monetary contribution via Venmo or Zelle.
We have 90 amazing teachers and support staff to thank at JMS so we can use all the support we can get!
THANK YOU!
Carrie Conboy, Dawn Keezer, Nim Short and Jamie McGonigle - Teacher Appreciation 2022 Chairs

JMS PTA Information
PTA Reflections Competition
National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.
Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
The theme for 2022-2023 will be "Show Your Voice!"
Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
Students participate in the appropriate division for their grade: Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), High School (Grades 9-12), Special Artist (All grades welcome). Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Special Artist Division or grade division most closely aligned to their functional abilities.*
