BASTIEN AND BASTIENNE
by W.A. MOZART
Created when Mozart was just twelve years old, this charming, short, fully-staged comic opera centers on a lad and lassie with remarkably similar names, who fall in love but are separated – at least briefly – by worldly enticements. The one-act opera also features a wise magician with questionable skills. Does he have “something up his sleeve” that will bring this couple back together?
The Nasher Sculpture Center
"Located in the heart of the heart of the Dallas Arts District, the Nasher is home to the Raymond and Patsy Nasher Collection, one of the finest collections of modern and contemporary sculpture in the world. The longtime dream of the late Raymond and Patsy Nasher, the museum was designed by world-renowned architect Renzo Piano, in collaboration with landscape architect Peter Walker, to seamlessly integrate the indoor galleries with the outdoor garden spaces, creating a museum experience unlike any other in the world." Klyde Warren Park
http://www.klydewarrenpark.org
Klyde Warren Park creates an urban green space constructed over a section of the Woodall Rogers Freeway, for 3 blocks between Pearl Street and St. Paul Street. It provides connectivity to the city’s flourishing Arts District from other neighborhoods, brings together cultural events and experiences, and serves as a central public gathering space for Dallas' residents and visitors to enjoy. Learners will participate in field-research as they explore the park and playground design, and later create their own playground designs in Art Class.
