4th Grade Parents! Information on Orchestra/Band/Choir!
GRADE LEVEL: 4TH GRADE; DATE: deadline is March 26, 2019
Next year your students will have the opportunity to be in band, orchestra, and choir at their elementary school. These classes will occur during school hours at their elementary school. Band and orchestra students will be expected to acquire an instrument and a music book, but we do have many school instruments available. Students will only be able to receive one instrument from the school based on financial need. There are many options for rental and purchase of instruments in the area.
Students are allowed to register for all three classes. The classes will meet in a three-day rotation at each elementary school. This information is being gathered to get preliminary registration numbers for each ensemble, so the district can begin creating classes for the fall. The students will attend a band/orchestra/choir kick-off concert in April at the high school to see the high school ensembles and learn more about the options available.
Instrument Choices (for your information, you do not need to choose right now).
Band instruments : Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, Bassoon, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, Percussion
Orchestra Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass
