Frank Zissis represented PA at the CSforALL Summit
Frank Zissis (Chartiers Valley School District) spoke as part of a panel at the CSforALL Summit in Memphis, TN. Frank is a computer science teacher at Chartiers Valley Intermediate School and spoke on his experiences with his district's SCRIPT team.

Professional Learning
CSinPA virtual community
We launched the CSinPA virtual community for you to seek out ideas from others and share resources. There's no cost to participate, so we hope you'll join us.
We also have two paid opportunities for people to engage in the community:
Post-secondary students can get paid $100 to share about their CS experiences over a 1-week period (application).
Educators can get paid $200 to serve as guest moderators over a 2-week period (application).
Applications for both programs are accepted on a rolling basis.

SCRIPT
Looking to start or re-engage a K-12 CS Comprehensive Plan? Attend a SCRIPT workshop! "The SCRIPT (Strategic CSforALL Resource and Implementation Planning Tool) is a framework to guide teams of district administrators, school leaders, and educators through a series of collaborative visioning, self-assessment and goal-setting exercises to create or expand upon a CS education implementation plan for their students:(CSforALL). Get in touch with your local SCRIPT facilitator.
K-8 Virtual Pathway
The Pathway is open to any K-8 educator involved with computer science instruction. Please complete this form to receive more information about the CSinPA K-8 Virtual Pathway professional learning program and opportunities for participating in upcoming cohorts.
7-12 Praxis Prep Pathway
The pathway is open to any PA 7-12 educators who are currently teaching and will be soon teaching a CS course and are planning to take the 7-12 CS Praxis exam (5652) required for certification.
Registration is now open for the "Winter" cohort (registration will close Dec. 31). This new cohort runs from Dec. 31, 2022- June 30, 2023.
- The Praxis Peer Tutoring program is also available for teachers preparing for the PA 7-12 CS certification exam.

CSTA Pittsburgh: Chapter meeting: Nov. 17, 6:30 pm with discussion on BirdBrain Finch and Hummingbirds
CSTA Susquehanna Valley: Chapter meeting: Nov. 1, 7:30 pm with discussion on ways to start conversations on cybersecurity.
CSTA Longwood: Chapter meeting: Nov. 11, 6:00 pm.

Opportunities and Resources
The PaTTAN CSinPA team is hiring a project coordinator to facilitate the design and development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Toolkit to support educators teaching AI in Pennsylvania schools. The position is 100% virtual and offers flexible scheduling. The coordinator will be paid a stipend $1,000. Applications are due by Friday, November 18, 2022.
2023 Governor's STEM Competition - PDE
The theme is “Innovating the Commonwealth through Collaboration and Computing.” Team registration is due Nov. 6. Student Logo Design competition submissions are due Dec. 15.
CSEdWeek 2022 Preview - CSTA
Attend this Nov. 10 webinar to preview the new CSEdWeek resources and spend time in breakouts with fellow teachers planning how to celebrate CSEdWeek.
As part of the 10th Hour of Code, Code.org is awarding $10,000 to one high school and one middle school in every state to assist districts with establishing a CS pathway. Applications are due Nov. 21.
