The Pride of Paloma Creek Choir
Spring Dates
Starry Starry Fine Arts Night
Our first performance of the semester is coming up soon! The Pride of Paloma Creek Choir will be performing for the opening of this year's Fine Arts Night on Thursday, April 7. Choir is the first performance of the evening and we will start promptly at 5:30. Choir students need to wear their choir "uniform" (jeans and this year's choir tshirt - new students should see me for details on how to get one) and meet on the front steps of the school at 5:15. We will sing the school song, National Anthem, and then a couple of pieces that we are preparing for our big spring concert and NRH2O. Our portion of the evening should be finished by 5:45.
There are so many great things happening for our Fine Arts Night! Read below to learn more about this exciting event!
Official NRH2O Date Set - Trip Deposits Due Next Week
Our choir has a long running tradition of receiving superior (the highest) ratings at NRH2O! We will perform two pieces for a judge, receive feedback in a mini-session immediately following our performance, then spend the rest of the day enjoying our time together in the water park.
This year, we will be competing in the new "Invitational" division where choirs are judged by a higher standard, closer to what students will experience with UIL competitions in middle school. I'm excited about this new level of competition and I am completely confident that our students have the ability and discipline this year to do well raising the bar!
As mentioned in our last newsletter, this trip does cost money. The entry fee (for the park + competition) is $22 (chaperones have a discounted fee - see below). Additionally there is a transportation fee for our buses. The grand total individuals have to pay is to be determined. We raised just over $200 at our Fuzzy's Taco fundraiser in February! We will also have an afternoon fundraiser at Sonic in April (stay tuned for more info on that!).
To help plan ahead, we will be collecting a trip deposit fee of $10 beginning next Monday, March 28 through Wednesday, April 6. We can accept cash or checks (made out to Paloma Creek Elementary). Once we know the final cost of the trip after our Sonic fundraiser, we will let everyone know how much more will need to be paid.

More Info on Fine Arts Night
Festivities will kick off at 5:30 with a performance by the Pride of Paloma Creek Choir and the American pledge led the Fourth Grade Ambassadors. Following the opening, we will enjoy dinner on the lawn from various food trucks.
Throughout the evening, families will have the opportunity to see their children perform musical pieces either live or via video in the cafeteria as well as shop in our Scholastic Book Fair hosted in the library.
Each hallway classroom bulletin board will showcase "The Authors of Paloma Creek." Our students have worked hard all year on creating masterpieces of writing.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate the wonderful artists and musicians of Paloma Creek!
