SAMR in Review -- January 2016
What is SAMR?
SAMR stands for Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition. It is a framework developed by Dr. Reuben Puentadura for thinking about technology and how it can be best used in a teaching environment.
The two videos embedded below will give you a clearer picture of what this entails.
The SAMR Model Explained By Students
Where have you been on the continuum?
Let's think back to some of the lessons and activities you have done with your students in the past. With technology becoming more and more prevalent in our classrooms, can you think of a lesson or project you've done before that falls in the continuum somewhere?
Moving forward, can you think of some of the units you work on in the classroom that would be augmented, modified, or redefined with the use of the tools we have available?

SAMR and the iPads
Our iPads can be valuable tools in the classroom to move across the SAMR continuum. While I want to get away from iPad Use = apps, the image below may give you some inspiration of how we can use our iPads in more meaningful ways.
