Northwood News
The 411 from 700 Gulf Road
May 4th to May 8th
This week would have been our production of Peter Pan and the 8th graders would have gone to hear a holocaust survivor speak. It would have been a wonderful week at Northwood. Instead it will be a wonderful week of distance learning. Please stay up on your studies and the curriculum calendar.
If at any time you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to myself or Mr. Grossman. We understand that these can be difficult times and are here to help in anyway needed.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Special Request from Mr. Brown, EHS Principal
I received an email from Mr. Brown at the high school. Not only is he a colleague but he is also a friend. I have attached the email below. Please do anything you can to help out the graduating seniors.
Good Morning Everyone –
I hope this email finds you doing well and staying safe. As we continue to look for creative ways to replace many of the memorable experiences our students will be missing out on, I was hoping you could share and promote within your school community (teachers and students) one of our upcoming activities.
Traditionally, the week leading into Senior Prom was a spirit week at Elyria High. The senior class wanted to keep the tradition going with a spirit week even though the likelihood of having a Senior Prom in the next couple of months isn’t looking very good. The Senior Prom was scheduled for Saturday, May 9th which means spirit week is next week already.
Here are the daily themes:
· Monday, May 4th – Elyria Pioneer Day – School colors
· Tuesday, May 5th – Tacky Tourist Tuesday – dress like you’re on vacation
· Wednesday, May 6th – Wacky Wednesday – dress crazy
· Thursday, May 7th – Throwback Thursday – dress in your favorite decade
· Friday, May 8th – Fashion Show Friday – dress to impress (formal)
As a favor, could you please encourage your students and staff to show their support to the graduating Class of 2020 by participating throughout the week. Having your students and staff, in the designated daily theme, holding homemade signs, banners, messages to graduating seniors would touch the seniors beyond words. The pictures can be emailed to the ask@elyriaschools.org and we will share them through our district’s various social media outlets.
Thanks so much for your help, and please let me know if there are activities within your respective building’s the high school can help with.
Pioneer Proud,
TB
