SAC Parent Representative Voting
The following members of the School Advisory Committee have been selected by their peers for the 2023-2024 School Year:
Teacher: Mr. Chad Mallo
School-Related Personnel: Ms. Kayla Goldberg
We are ready to select our parent representatives, using this ballot. We appreciate so many parents stepping forward to help our school!
Adjustments for Quarter 2
- Beginning Tuesday, 10/17, the elevator will require an RFID Badge for access. Students who have had elevator passes for health/medical reasons should see Ms. Morgan in the clinic to obtain an elevator badge.
- A reminder to families using the PM car line that our school's end time is 2:30 PM. Students must be picked up by 3 PM, when our staff work day ends. Unfortunately, we are seeing many days over the past three weeks when 20+ students are waiting for rides.
- For families unable to arrange a ride prior to 3 PM, we offer our after care program which offers academic tutoring, snacks, and STEM enrichment opportunities. We can also add your student to the bus roster for transportation to a hub location.
- A limited number of schedule adjustments will be implemented this week to welcome new students from our waiting list, and accomplish specific required updates. Impacted students will be notified, and an updated schedule issued.

Strong Partnerships Yield Great Student Outcomes
Parent-Teacher communication is essential in supporting student growth and learning. Often, the most convenient method for both parties is email--as it allows senders to compose their thoughts and reach out at a time that is convenient for them, while also ensuring that the recipient has the opportunity to respond at a time when they can give the message, question, or concern the attention it deserves.
Teachers do not have voicemail enabled on their classroom phones. To avoid interruptions during lessons, the front desk will not be able to transfer phone calls to the classroom. Callers will be asked to send an email message if they are calling during a time in which the teacher is scheduled to be teaching.
The district has worked to add communication features within the MyStudent platform to support this key partnership. It is important to know that parent users will need to login on the MyStudent app to see waiting messages. A complete directory of staff email addresses is available on our school website.

Would you like to purchase an inaugural t-shirt? We offer sizes from S - XL (no XS or 2XL available).

Magnet Program Attendance Requirements Explained
Students enrolled in a magnet program must demonstrate a pattern of consistent attendance. Students who miss more than 5% of their school days may be recommended for revocation of their school choice assignment. If your student must miss school for any reason, please reach out to our school office for information about obtaining excused absence status and to review their overall attendance status.
Students whose attendance, grades, behavior or test score data indicate a reason for concern will receive notification letters during the week of 10/16 - 10/20, and will work with school staff to develop an improvement plan for Quarter 2.
Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) - Grades 8-10
The PSAT 8/9 assessment will help your child prepare for the future. It helps establish a baseline for students as they enter high school and begin preparing for college and career readiness. By taking the PSAT 8/9, your child will learn which skills he or she needs to work on for continued success when preparing for high school and ultimately college. In addition, the PSAT 8/9 will identify areas where your child excels (and may want to consider taking higher-level courses), as well as areas he or she should focus to improve academically.
It also provides students with better access to data and personalized study through the online College Board and Khan Academy, and offers a readiness baseline for the SAT. It allows online access to explore careers, majors, and schools which may align with your child’s personal interest, and provides planning tips and financial aid information.
Historically, students who take the PSAT score higher on the SAT, on average, than those who do not take the test. Please note that the PSAT 8/9 scores are not sent to colleges.
All 10th-grade students are invited to sit for the PSAT/NMSQT, the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which is an important assessment for college preparation.
Notice of Public Meetings
On February 7, 2023, the School Board approved a lease agreement with Vertex Development, LLC to place a cell tower on the Angeline Academy of Innovation campus. This cell tower will improve cell service not only on the campus but for the surrounding area as well. Vertex is working through the cell tower approval process with Pasco County.
There are two upcoming public hearings regarding the tower. The first is with the Planning Commission on September 21, 2023 at 1:30 PM. The second public hearing is with the Board of County Commissioners on October 24, 2023. Both meetings are scheduled to be held at the West Pasco Government Center Boardroom in New Port Richey. If you have questions, comments or would like additional information please contact Chris Williams, Director of Planning, at cwilliam@pasco.k12.fl.us, or (813) 794-7970.
Yearbook Sales - Buy Now!
Our first ever yearbook is on sale! Order your copy online using the link below. The yearbook staff is also selling business ads, which are a great way to support their work and help keep the yearbook costs lower.
After surveying local middle schools, we are not planning to sell ads for individual students until we have a senior class.
Questions about yearbooks may be directed to our yearbook sponsor, Mrs. Swain.
How to Stay Close With a Teen Pulling Away
The evolution of children is really amazing. It's like a bell curve. They start out very close to you, they drift away, and then they come back. We've had 11 children, so I've experienced it a lot. When they're really young, they think everything you do is right. They want to be around you all the time and to go where you go. Then you get to age 11 and into the teens, and they start to drift away. All of a sudden, you're no longer cool, and you feel your teen pulling away. They want to spend all their time with friends. But then college age, they come back, and you get a little closer. But what can we do during the time when they drift, in order to stay close? Here are a couple of ways I've learned how to handle a teen pulling away.
Huddle up with your kids and ask, "What is your favorite thing to do right now?"
