NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 2 | 10 FEBRUARY 2023

Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
The start of the school year has been a great one. All of the students from Pre-Kindy to Year Six have settled in so well and the transition to a new year has been very smooth.
Thank you to all the parents who took time out of their busy schedules to attend the Parent Information Sessions on Monday night. It was lovely to welcome back our existing families and welcome new ones to our school community. This year we introduced the ‘Welcome to Parents’ before the classroom sessions which proved to be a successful move as it allowed me to go through general school information, such as our focus for the year of ‘RESPECT’, Student Code of Conduct and how we are empowering students to use the QR code to report any unwanted behaviour and finally uniform expectations for the year. The Parent Information Sessions followed, led by the classroom teachers were great and well supported by families. Thank you to my staff for providing this wonderful opportunity for our families.
The beginning of the school year is a timely reminder to all about parking around the school grounds. Please be mindful of nearby residents’ driveways when parking in the streets and follow the rules outlined by the City of Wanneroo. I would also like to encourage parents of students in Year Three to Six to use the Kiss and Drive option for pickup to allow our families in the Early Years a chance to park in the carpark and collect their child from the classroom.
As the weekend comes around, I would ask our school community to keep the people affected by the devastating earthquake in Turkey-Syria in your thoughts and prayers.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
God Bless
Rebecca Clarke
Principal

New P&F President - Tara Colyer-Long
Hi, I’m Tara Colyer-Long and I’m honoured to be taking on my new role as P&F President. I have two daughters who attend St Elizabeths – Lucy in Year 4 and Grace in Year 3.
As a marketing and communications professional, I’m hoping my skills and experience can help St Elizabeth’s P&F efforts go from strength to strength. To kick things off, we are organising a coffee cart to be on site on all school assembly days because coffee, coffee, coffee!
I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge outgoing President, Belinda Stewart, who has been carrying the load for so many years and has been so pivotal in building our school community. You’ve done an amazing job and have left some big shoes to fill. We sincerely hope you will still be involved in the P&F in some shape or form!
Our first meeting for 2023 is at 5.30pm on Wednesday 22 February and we would LOVE to see you there! All parents are welcome to help shape our community and this first meeting will pave the way to setting an activity planner for the year – so we all know what’s happening, can plan for it and know how to contribute.
I can’t do this all on my own so let’s work together to share the love and spread the load!
