Did you know?

Sprains and Strains can be treated with the RICE method to help control swelling:

  • Rest the sprained or strained area.
  • Ice for 20 minutes every hour. Never put ice directly against the skin or it may damage the skin. Use a thin towel for protection.
  • Compress by wrapping an elastic (Ace) bandage lightly (not tightly) around the joint or limb. Specialized braces, such as for the ankle, can work better than an elastic bandage for removing the swelling.
  • Elevate the area above heart level if possible.

All but the most minor strains and sprains should be evaluated by a doctor. Consult a physician as soon as possible if you suspect a possible broken bone.

#Unity

Staff, students and the community united to support our Gananda warriors currently in battle against different forms of cancer. To show support for all of our warriors, regardless of which battle and how they are fighting, staff, students, and community members wore jeans and a designated color on 3 consecutive Fridays.

Each of the colors selected represent unity to fight against a specific form of cancer. The following is a color key:

Teal=Ovarian Cancer
Teal/Pink=Thyroid Cancer
Pink=Breast Cancer
White= Lung Cancer

Thank you for helping show our Gananda warriors that they have our support!
