Hello Northwood Elementary Families-


The end of the school year is approaching. The last day for students is Friday, June 10th. The End of Year Awards Assembly for students in grades K-4 will take place Thursday, June 9th at 9:30 a.m. in the middle school gym. Students receiving awards were given parent invites to take home. Parents and guests may enter from the elementary or middle school entrances.


The Kindergarten Celebration Picnic will take place Friday, June 10th from 12-1 on the middle school lawn. Refer to teacher communication for details about the Kindergarten Celebration Picnic.


Thank you to Northwood Elementary PTA for providing parents of Kindergarten students with pizza for the Kindergarten Celebration Picnic.


Thank you to school counselor Milesa Brunetti for organizing the recent Flower Walk. We received many thanks from our neighbors for the flower that was left at their door.


Winning Classrooms for Positive Behavior Ice Cream Treat Incentive for May

Grades K-2 - Mrs. Hammer's class won with 29 tally marks

Grades 3-4 - Ms. Schulte's class won with 12 tally marks

Winning classrooms received tally marks for positive hallway behavior.

SchoolStore Fundraiser Update

This year Northwood Elementary made $1,718.79 from the Schoolstore fundraiser. Parents and community donated $11,535.00 in gift cards to classroom teachers. The money made from the fundraiser is used to purchase incentives and classroom supplies. Thank you for your support! Thanks to Mrs. Harris for overseeing this annual fundraiser.

Standards Alignment

By the end of the 2023/2024 school year 75% of teachers will design lessons that consider the point of view and interest of all students to enhance their learning.


Safe and Healthy Schools

By the end of the 2023/2024 school year, Elyria City Schools will improve 75% of students' sense of safety and feelings of belonging through health/wellness support, increased implicit bias awareness, and positive behavior programming as measured by a 30% decreased discipline referrals and 30% increased attendance.
