Inertia... Is He A Singer?
By: Newton's Fig and Co. (a.k.a Olivia Smith)
So... Inertia. Never Heard of 'Em
Inertia isn't a person, but one of Newton's ( no, not fig newtons) laws. Inertia is an object's resistance to a change in velocity, which includes speed and/or direction. Remember that time when you rode your scooter down that one hill and you hit a rock, flew off, and hit the hard, wet ground? Yeah, that's inertia. The scooter stopped, but because of inertia you flew forward.
I Heard Newton Has A Law... Can I Break It?
Newton's first law is the Law of Inertia. This law states that if an object is at rest, or in motion, it will remain at rest, and an object in motion will remain in motion. These objects remain at a constant velocity unless some rude force interrupts and acts upon it.
I Believe I Can Fly
So...guy hits barrel; bike stops; guy flies forward.
Ahhhh...Now I See
Unless the car moves or this cat is pushed off he will remain at rest.
When one ball on a pendulum hits another it causes inertia which then causes the ball on the other end to move in the opposite direction.
