Staff Members of the Month
It's time to vote for the March staff members of the month. It may be April, but we will celebrate them all month. Thank you for taking the time to recognize our amazing staff members and for providing feedback naming and noticing what you see them doing.
Please vote today, as voting will close at 5:00 PM.
Boosterthon Fun
Our annual Boosterthon Fun Run is just around the corner! We are super excited about our Mind Spark Mystery Lab theme that supports our STEAM initiative.
Our committee is ensuring this year's run is bigger and better than ever! We will launch with our pep rallies on April 16th followed by our teacher meeting after dismissal in the library.
We will be raising funds to expand our classroom libraries and additional LLI intervention books.
We are fortunate our district is moving forward with all things technology! We are on the phase in plan for interactive projectors being installed in every classroom! Our kinder teachers are also next for receiving student Chromebooks. Our district has chosen to not be 1:1 with technology as they recognize the value of the workshop model of teaching where students are engaged in small group activities rather than the whole class doing the same thing at the same time.
With kindergarten getting student Chromebooks, we will be able to reallocate I-pads to ensure each teacher can continue to upload artifacts of learning into Fresh Grade student portfolios with ease.
More information coming soon regarding the principal's challenge reward and pledge challenge reward. Can you say dress up, dance off, and dinosaurs oh my?!! Ask committee member to fill you in with all the details.
Units of Study Reading and Writing Feedback
We have also been learning about the power of feedback and how it helps our students and us grow as learners. We have developed a feedback form specifically for this purpose. Please keep in mind that feedback is not intended to be evaluative or interpretive. Feedback is a way highlight specific evidence of reader's and writer's workshop by naming and noticing all of the components your implementing.
When a basketball coach provides feedback to his best point guard, he's providing timely, specific feedback to help his best point guard refine his shot, strategic view of the court, and stamina to help him/her get even better. That's exactly what we will be doing by providing feedback to you on the form below. Please take a moment to look over the form and let Kim, Lauren, or me know of any questions or concerns you may have.

You're welcome to utilize this form with your feedback partners today if your partner would rather you give them this feedback rather than feedback over Domain 2 or 3. Feel free to make a copy of the form or print it off if you're partner is interested in more specific feedback regarding their instructional practices for reader's or writer's workshop.
