What are fossils?

They are the remains of achient organisms.They tell us what the earth was like in the past.

What type of rock are they found in?

Fossils mostly are found in sedimentry rocks,and sometimes mthamopic rock

How are they formed?

They are formed when an animal or plant dies and mud and silt builds over it.Over time the rock hardens and becomes a fossil.

Example of how they are formed.

A fern tree could be tipped over by wind in a storm.Over time the fossils get coverded by silt and mud.
