Monday, September 28th (Field Trip to Winthrop)

Monday we will travel to Winthrop for our field trip. While we are there, the students will have the opportunity to climb the rock wall, tour the campus, and participate in numerous team-building activities. The students will need to bring a bag lunch from home if not purchasing one from the cafeteria. I have a list of students who will purchase a lunch from the cafeteria. Please let me know if there is a lunch change with your student so I can inform the cafeteria staff. Students should dress in comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. I will provide a snack for students before lunch. Please use disposable products when packing your child's lunch so we can throw everything away. If you have any questions please let me know! We are all excited and ready to go!

Parents, Vistors, and Volunteers

Parents, grandparents, relatives, or community friends that wish to volunteer in the classroom need to go to the website and sign up. Also, we welcome lunchroom guest, but due to liability, coming to recess is not allowed. http://www.rock-hill.k12.sc.us/community/volunteerapplication.aspx

Special Snacks

Mrs. Guyton made an all call regarding outside food needing to be labeled (ingredients, etc.) before it can come into the classrooms. This new district wide policy is to protect the children who have documented food allergies. This ONLY applies to snacks brought into the classroom/lunchroom that would be passed out to other students (Birthday celebration snacks, etc.), NOT food that is packed in personal lunch boxes for lunch.

IHES PTA

Text reminder service: "Have you signed up for the PTA Text Message Service for School Event Updates??? If not, text @ihespta to 81010 and stay up to date on all that's going on"

School Policy Reminders

  • In an effort to prevent the spread of illnesses in school, Rock Hill School District follows DHEC guidelines. Please remember that children have to be fever free (without the use of Tylenol or Motrin) for 24 hours before returning to school. A fever is defined as a temperature greater than 100.4. Also, children must for free of vomiting and/or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school. Thank you for your help in keeping all of the students at India Hook healthy.

  • All transportation changes must be made via note or email. Please be sure to put your child's first and last name, your name, the date, your child's grade level and teacher's name when writing the note/email. All of this information is required when we send the note/email to the office. Please understand we are not allowed to make transportation changes via phone…this is a safety precaution

Lunch Menu

We are being told that we will not be getting printed copies of the lunch menu anymore, so I have posted the link where you can access the menu for each month.

Labeled Clothing/Lost and Found

With the weather being chilly in the morning and many children wearing jackets, please label all garments and have your student keep an eye on lost and found if you are missing things. It's really early in the year and adds up fast.
