Parkview Elementary
Weekly Update - April 1 - 3
News from Principal Olson
Hello Parkview Families!
This is not what our April school newsletter was intended to be, but here we are, in some bizarre and unprecedented times! Starting this week, I will be sending a weekly update. After this first update, you can expect to receive updates from school on Mondays. We are doing this to keep you connected and informed about school during this time that we are in a quarantine. We will provide any new information, links to resources, our lunch menu for the week, and whatever else that comes our way!
This week our teachers and staff have been engaged in learning on how to provide a more structured eLearning virtual classroom. We will start on April 8th and continue until the statewide “Safer at Home” directive has been lifted and it is determined that it is safe to return to school.
There are two ways to access the eLearning classroom. The first is through technology. You should have received a district communication about the learning plan. Here is the link for your reference: COVID-19 Parent Message
The second way is to receive paper copies of lessons. You should have received an automated phone message, email, or will be receiving a communication from your child’s teacher about paper copies. Once the list is compiled, families who do not have internet access, will receive paper copies of lessons on a weekly basis.
Lunch will be served daily (Mon.-Fri.) at all Chippewa Falls Schools, grab and go style. This is free to anyone under the age of 18, all are welcome!
I want to close by saying THANK YOU! Thank you for ALL that you do for your children. We know that these are incredibly stressful times. Our lives have taken a very sharp turn and have caused us to rethink everything we do. I want you to know that whatever you do to support, encourage, and provide school at home - that is enough. It is OK to focus on your families first. Talk to one another, play board games, and eat a meal together. Someday we will return to “school”. We will pick up where you left off and continue to teach in the way that best meets your child(ren)’s needs. If something doesn’t make sense, or is taking more time than anticipated, please reach out to your child’s teacher and let them know about it. They are learning too! We will work together to figure out our new “normal”.
