The battle of Lexington started the American revolutionary war.
Captain John Parker led Lexington army. Parker made a statement at the place where the war began. "It was stand your ground don't fire and miss, fire upon if they mean to have a war, let it begin here!"

Important people
Samuel Adams and John Hancock they were leaders of the patriotic movement, Thomas Gage was a British general, doctor Joseph Warren, he was the person who learned the British plans. Paul Revere and William Dawes they were sent to warn the Colonist, Samuel Adams and John Hancock that the British were coming.
Samuel Adams and John Hancock escaped before the British arrived.
Colonist orginized a group of militia called minute men, they were called minute men because they needed to be ready to fight at a minutes notice.
