Summer 2018

Welcome to the 2018 - 2019 school year!

We look forward to the start of school and welcoming our new and returning students.

Our mission is to provide all students with authentic and rigorous learning experiences that promote innovation, high levels of academic achievement and community building. We are committed to build on our accomplishments and strive for continuous improvement to challenge students, maximize learning opportunities and promote a safe, equitable, and inclusive school environment.

I encourage you to get involved and maintain strong communication with the teachers and counselors.

6th Grade / New Student Orientation & Parent Meeting

Orientation is Wednesday, August 15.

Our teachers and 8th grade Compass Mentors have prepared a fun and informative day for all new DATA students.


1. Student Orientation (in the gym):

8:00-11:30am Staff and student led games and campus tour/orientation

2. Parent meeting (in the cafeteria):

8:00-9:00 Coffee, light breakfast, socializing, meet the members of the DATA Parent


9:00-9:30 Principal's Welcome

9:30-10:30 Technology at DATA

First Day of School!

7th Grade TDAP Immunization Required

7th grade students will not be issued a schedule or able to attend classes until TDAP immunization has been cleared with the health office.

Please submit proof of immunization to the DATA front office. Click the link below for more information.

Student Schedules

Student schedules will be available the first day of school.

Students first period schedules will be posted in alphabetical order by grade in the main quad. Students will then receive their complete schedule from their first period teacher.

No schedule changes will be made during the first two weeks of school unless there was an error in the scheduling (duplicate classes, incorrect grade, etc).

Zero Period will not meet on the first day of school. Zero period will begin on Thursday, August 23 at 8:00 am.

First Day Packets, Student Agendas & Laptop/Netbook Forms

First day packets will go home with students on the first day of school. There is a lot of important information in these packets. Please take the time to review, complete and return within the first week of school.

Students will receive agendas on the first day of school. These agendas are to be used by all students to keep track of assignments, homework and other important information. There will be agenda checks during homeroom. We encourage parents to help their students stay organized and review the agenda with them on a regular basis. Agendas need to be cared for and not defaced or destroyed.

A lost agenda will have a replacement cost of $5.

8th and 7th grade students will receive laptop/netbook forms in their Language Arts class during the first week of school. These forms are very important and must be returned within the first week of school in order to receive technology in a timely manner.

ASES - Daily After School Program

ASES provides a free, safe and supervised after-school education, enrichment and recreation program for 90-100 students at DATA.

Students in the after-school program have opportunities to experience new activities such as sports leagues, the climbing wall, art education, dance, science activities and all sorts of group games. The goal is to keep students safe, improve academic achievement, give students choices and provide opportunities.
