Meet the New Principal

My career has spanned the last 25 years as a teacher, an assistant principal and an elementary principal in Woodstock, Ill. With my children out of high school, I wanted to move closer to loved ones and was so fortunate to be selected to join the Knoxville team! Throughout the summer, I have had the opportunity to meet many of the staff members and our wonderful PTO. I have to say it already feels like home. I have two children, a 23 year old daughter that is a social worker in Nashville, TN and an 18 year old son who will head to SIU Carbondale this fall to study aircraft mechanics. I love watching football, so you will see me rooting on our Knoxville Blue Bullets on Friday nights and The Ohio State Buckeyes/Chicago Bears on the weekends.

Be in the Know in Knoxville.....

Teacher assignments will be available in Skyward starting on August 1st. If you already have a log in, you will be able to see who your child's teacher will be this year. With the amount of steps that goes into getting ready for the school year for each child, we are not able to make changes/take requests at this time.

Class lists will be posted in the front of the school on Monday, August 2nd by 8:00 AM. While observing the lists, please stay positive and show kindness when reviewing the information.

Two upcoming dates to know:

August 5th: Registration for all students at KHS from 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM. You are welcome to register online starting August 1st for all returning students.

August 16th: Supply Drop Off / Meet the Teacher / Free Popsicle with the Principal at MWES. Ms. Pala will be handing out free popsicles and the PTO will be selling our spirit-wear in the front hallway. To limit the amount of people in the building, we will be running 2 shifts.

  • Last names starting with A - L will be from 5:30 PM to 6:15 PM.
  • Last names starting with M - Z will be from 6:15 PM to 7:00 PM.

Please use the oldest MWES child's last name if there are multiple last names in the family.

We also highly recommend that only one adult accompany a child to reduce the number of visitors in the building. Masking information for that evening will come out at a later date.

PTO will hold its first meeting that evening at 7:00 PM in the cafeteria. Please stay with us to learn more about how you can help with this wonderful organization.
