Our Philosophy

Chess NYC's long standing philosophy in Chess Instruction is to emphasize sport and fun and provide as much chess instruction as a child can bear...but not more......In doing so and providing supervised, spirited play, each student associates Chess with fun, and therefore larger numbers of them ultimately excel or @ least become proficient in the great, significant, game of chess. In keeping with this principle but not diminishing the importance of the game, New York City Chess has created a special curriculum that ensures each student continues to come back for more...and loving it....From there? EXCELLENCE!

Ever Forward

All of this is just a beginning for Chess NYC Programs, as Programs continue to grow and mature every day!

Students playing socially w/a proficient knowledge of the game, up to Players with Championship aspirations, our Chess NYC continues to share the love of the game and expand the culture of our Community.

Congratulations Coaches, Congratulations IS 318, PS 33, PS 11, Lower Lab...Congratulations Team!

From our new 4 yr olds to our crowned Champions, we are very proud of all of you!
