CRITICAL UPDATE
Nor'easters Team in Grade 8
1-26-2021
Dear Scarborough Public Schools Families from the Nor’easter Team in Grade 8.
A person from Scarborough Middle School has tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). As we have worked closely with the Maine CDC today, it has come to our attention that a number of staff on your child’s team have been identified as close contacts. As such, it will be necessary for the Nor’easter Team in Grade 8 to attend school remotely through Monday, February 1st, 2021. There are not enough substitutes available to physically fill in for the teachers on the team who will be in quarantine and need to teach remotely. Both Cohort A and B students will be able to fully access all of their classes remotely during this time. Please reach out to food@scarboroughschools.org if you would like to have a remote breakfast/lunch pack prepared for your child, and we can even set up delivery of those packs as needed.
To be clear, receipt of this letter DOES NOT indicate that your child was identified as a close contact, but just that there is not enough staffing for in person learning to continue on your team next week. All close contact notifications will be done separately.
Sincerely,
Kathy Tirrell, Principal
David Currier, Assistant Principal
