KIDS AT HOPE NEWS
Community and Service Destination
For this nine weeks of school, our Kids at Hope destination focus is Community and Service. It's important for our students to think about themselves as positive contributors and how they can serve their communities. Everyone has something they can offer! To get the conversation started with your student, you could ask:
-What do you do now to help your community?
-When you are older, what can you do to help your community?
-What do you think your community needs? How can you help?
-How has someone helped you? How could you help someone else?
Teaching our students time travel to their futures helps them plan for their future selves!
Lena Dunn Community Service Project
Along with holiday caroling at local nursing homes in December, we will be collecting items to deliver to the residents of the nursing homes. Please have your child bring an item anytime before December 4th.
Preschool: snacks/candy
Kindergarten: lotion
1st grade: shampoo
2nd grade: body soap
3rd grade: toothbrush/toothpaste
4th grade: socks
5th grade: blanket

We are really looking forward to this school-wide community service project!
Community Game Day
We hosted our second-annual Community Game Day this month. We had over 25 community members, the WHS Lady Hatchet Basketball team, and the WHS Cheer Team all volunteering their time and energy for our panthers. Our students immensely enjoyed playing games and making connections with these treasure hunters! Thank you for being a part of our special day!
