Miss Vaughn's Class
Week of December 14-18
Reading- We are LOVING our Non-Fiction Unit still!!! We have moved on from text features and will be using our Science Schema (prior knowledge) to dig deeper into our books! Please ask your child what non-fiction books they have from school!
Math- We are mastering telling time to the hour in math this week! A clock should have come home with your student! We have talked about routines and the time it takes to do these at school! At home make a "Routine Times Chart (Homework Time, Dinner Time, or Bed Time" and see how your child does telling time to the hour and remembering when it is time to do these routines! They've had fun doing this at school!
Writing- We are linking our Reading of Non-Fiction to Writing Non-Fiction! We are using all we know as readers of this genre and now we can be authors of this genre!
Science/Social Studies- We have finished our final projects in Science and have developed a model of explaining what we have learned! They will becoming home on Friday 12/11! In Social Studies this week we will be taking a trip around the world to see how other countries celebrate winter holidays! Places on our trip include: Israel, Austrailia, Italy and many more!
Leader in ME!- We are so excited to Sharpen our Saw this winter break! Taking care of our mind, body, hearts, and soul! Please watch this with your child and discuss how you as a family could all sharpen your saws together! We will be talking about how to leave a "legacy" at Null school starting in January!
