We need you! Let's continue to support our school. Let's make a history in South Fulton County with the largest PTA membership! I know we can do it! Currently, we have approximately 100 families and staff members that have joined PTA this year. Our student enrollment is 721 students this year. PTA is pushing for each child to get a minimum of 2 PTA memberships. Dues are $20.00 per membership. Our students deserve it! They are doing great work. Just think about this, at a minimum of @20.00 per student enrolled, we would easily raise $14, 420 that would go back into our own school! We can do this! See the PTA information below for payments. PTA will also be available to accept dues at Curriculum Night. Thanks for your support.
Our Curriculum Night will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd . We will begin at 5:30 PM. The evening will include our Annual Title 1 Review, The State of the School Address and visits to your child's classroom to learn more about curriculum expectations this year. We hope to see your there. This will be a great night to:
Join PTA
Bring Donations for our Hurricane Relief project
Pick up your HAC Codes
Meet your child's teacher up close
Please check the school website for a few calendar changes as we make the adjustments needed to reschedule a few school events.
***If you are interested in joining the School Governance Council, please contact Mrs. Glass. We need a parent representative to serve on the SGC this year.
We are looking forward to a great week!
Thanks for all you do! Let's Go Wolves!

Community Service Project - TAG Department - Extended 1 Week for Donations
Hello Wolf Creek Team,
As you may already know, many have been negatively affected by the recent hurricane to hit Georgia and Florida. Though the Hurricane Irma has passed, it left a devastating path. It is going to take some time for many to get on their feet and restore what was lost. In an effort to help the victims of Hurricane Irma we have partnered with Atlanta Peach Movers and Bridge to Hope in South Florida (http://www.bridgetohope.net/) to provide some support to those who desperately need it.
Beginning Monday, September 25th until Friday October 6th we will be collecting can goods, school supplies, and toiletries to donate to Bridge to Hope. Atlanta Peach Movers has agreed to take our donations to Bridge to Hope for FREE. The owner of the company, Orlando Lynch, has not charged us one cent for the delivery of these items to Bridge to Hope. That includes the cost for loading and unloading, travel, gas, man power, etc. …. ALL fees waived! Atlanta Peach Movers will pick up our donations at Wolf Creek ES and travel to Bridge to Hope to drop off our donations. Let’s take full advantage of this opportunity to help those in need by donating as much.
Please let your students, parents, and families know about this wonderful cause to help mankind!!

Possible Free Breakfast Program Next School Year
Parents,
We are just a few applications away from being able to offer a free breakfast program to our students next school year (2018-19). We are 3% away from having 65% Free and Reduce lunch status. This 65% will entitle us to a free breakfast program for our students. We want to be able to provide a nutritional breakfast free to our students. If you have not completed a meal application, please help us by doing so this week.
Please support our efforts in clearing past due lunch accounts. We have very high past due balances within the first few weeks of school. We are a full pay lunch and breakfast school site.
Remember to complete a lunch application form. Student's meal status from last year only roll over for the first 30 days of school. A lunch application must completed each year. On the 31st day of school, last week, the full pay fee for breakfast and lunch for all students that did not not have a lunch application for this school year on file began.
Please visit http://www.fultonschools.org/en/divisions/ops/Nutrition/Pages/default.aspx
for more information. You may also contact the cafeteria manager, Yolanda Dixson at dixsony@fultonschools.org for additional information regarding your child's meal status.
Register for an online meal account for your child. Online payments for you child can be done at My Payments Plus.
Uniforms! Thanks for your participation.
Attendance Awareness Month/Safety
Attendance in school makes a huge difference in how students perform.
This month begins our Attendance Awareness Month. Students perform better when they have "time in the seat". We need students present each day and on time.
We currently have 161 students with 1-3 absences. Be reminded students not present before 11:15 AM are absent for the day. Early checkouts before 11:15 AM are counted as absences. Our tardy numbers are high, please help us by getting our little ones to school on time each day. Don't forget, we begin instruction at 7:40 AM each day. Students that arrive after 7:40 AM are tardy. Parents are asked to sign their children in and get a tardy pass prior to reporting to class. Parents who wish to walk their child to class must also sign in at the front desk. So many of you have been awesome about being asked to return to the front desk to sign in. Thanks!
We still need your patience and support as we execute the morning drop off process and afternoon pick up. The cafeteria doors close at 7:35 AM each morning. Breakfast ends at that time. Get them there early for breakfast!
Please help us by using the car rider loop in the front of the building for all student drop-offs in the mornings. The car rider loop moves fast but it does require some wait time and patience. This is the safest area for student drop offs. We have assigned staff to support students as they get out of cars. The bus ramp in the back is reserved for buses only. If parents are using the parking lot near the bus ramp area for parking, they are asked to park their vehicles and escort their child into the building. Students should not be dropped off and allowed to run across the bus ramp to enter the building. We want students to be safe. We had a few cars moving fairly fast in this area. This is a safety concern. Remember, the doors open at 7:10 AM for student arrival. Thanks in advance for your support. If we have parents that can volunteer in for morning arrival, please let us know. We could use the extra hands and eyes to ensure safety for the students.
Thanks for your support!
REMINDERS
- Don't forget to register in the Home Access Center to receive access to your child's attendance and grades. You can receive your Home Access Center code from Ms. Lyles, the School Data Clerk. This is a highly sensitive code and must be signed out. We will also have these codes available at the Curriculum Night event. .
- Check for homework and sign your child's agenda each night.
- Student projects from home are looking great! Thanks for your support.
- Ask your child about his Essential Questions daily. These EQ's align to their curriculum standards being taught in class daily.
- Make sure your child knows his/her math facts and sight words. Ask your child's teacher how you can help them to master these skills. Ask about the number of sight words your child knows at K- 2nd. Research indicates that by 3rd grade students should be reading to learn instead of learning to read. Learning math facts helps students conquer the more difficult math concepts that require students to apply certain skills. Students are know longer only asked to simply add/subtract or multiply/divide. They are now required to explain the how and why behind the math. See more information regarding Georgia Performance Standards here: https://www.georgiastandards.org/Pages/default.aspx and here: https://www.georgiastandards.org/Pages/Parents.aspx
- Remember to sign up for Class Dojo. This is a school wide expectations. It is an effective school-home communication tool that each teacher uses with their class.
- Inquire with your child's teacher about how they are communicating with parents regarding school updates, homework and class events. Each grade level has a consistent communication tool. Some use newsletters, websites, remind 101, weekly homework sheets, etc. We want to make sure you are informed of school news.
- Check out your child's Fulton County Launch Pad site. Here you will find online tools that you can use at home with your child. www.launchpad.fultonschools.org Encourage your child to practice the online keyboarding tool. Most of our assessments are online now. Students would benefit from practicing keyboarding.
Title 1 News
Wolf Creek is a Schoolwide Title 1 school this year. Last year as a first year school, we were a Targeted Assistance school. See more information regarding Title 1 at : http://www.fultonschools.org/en/divisions/acd/supportserv/TitleI/Pages/default.aspx
What is Title I?
Title I is a federally funded program designed to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic standards and state academic assessments.
The Title I mission is to ensure that each child successfully meets or exceeds Georgia's proficient and advanced levels of student performance and meets or exceeds expectations on local, state, and national assessments.
Our Title 1 funds have afforded us the opportunities to:
Host Extended Learning Program for at risk students
Purchase technology for students - iPad Carts, Virtual Learning tools
Add teachers and a Parent Liaison to the staff
Purchase classroom resources to enhance learning for all students
Our Parent Involvement Plan and School Home Compact will be sent home soon. Please read, sign and send the compacts back to school Our goal is 100% compacts signed.
