HUG Spring 2016 Communication
Non-verbal communication example from Greece
First, I have noticed when people are trying to sell you something, they kind of move in closer to you. I really saw this through some Jamaican people trying to sell small wristbands. As for the Greeks I saw, I noticed that they would stand outside of their shops if they really wanted you to come in, which is very different from the U.S., where shopowners mostly stay in their shop until you walk inside. They have a look in their eyes that shows they want you to come in, and sometimes they will even speak up asking you to come look around in their shop! Non-verbal communication seems to be all over this culture as well as every culture!
