Problems that are killing owls

In The Book of North American Owls by Helen Roney Sattler on pages 35, and 36 describes the problems that are causing owls to die. One problem is that DDT is a powerful insecticide once used to dust crops. It is now making the owls eggs soft and causing them to break when the owls nest on them. Rodent control is also causing some burrowing owls to die from the chemicals in it. Next owls are dying because people are cutting down trees were most owls live therefore their homes are destroyed. Some owls are getting hit by cars because they fly across the road to get food, this is also causing owls to die out. Another reason owls are dying is because they are getting electrocuted when they sit on active wires and they don’t know that it is not safe. Last owls are getting shot by hunters and now there are not a lot of owls left. To sum up there are many problems that are causing owls to die.
