Superintendent Update
It's a Great Day in the School District of Beloit
August 18, 2021
Welcome from our Superintendent Dr. Dan Keyser
Greetings School District of Beloit Families,
We have only two weeks until the start of our new school year on Wednesday, September 1. We are looking forward to welcoming our returning and new to our District students and families for in-person, 5-days-a-week learning.
Our teachers are preparing their classrooms, lesson plans, and curriculum; our principals and assistant principals are ensuring that our students have a smooth and successful start to the school year; our support staff are finalizing their plans for staying connected and in touch with you and our students this year; our IT department has chromebooks and technology ready for our students; and our food service team is prepared to provide nutritious, tasty, and healthy meals.
We continue to work with Rock County Health Department and follow the guidance set forth by the CDC to ensure our students and staff remain healthy and safe. At this time, we are requiring that all students, staff, and visitors wear face coverings in all our school buildings and on our school buses.
Over the summer, our marketing team created a new, mobile-friendly website. Please check out the homepage for a consolidated calendar of events for all schools, links to essential sites and information, and school and principal listings. Each school site is updated too! Lots of great information for you to access via your phone. Our SDB App has more than 11,000 users – it’s a free app and easily downloadable.
Throughout the school year, I will send out a newsletter every other Sunday. Please expect my next newsletter on Sunday, August 29th. My continued commitment to all our families is frequent and transparent communication. These newsletters are available via email, text, and through our SDB App. As always, the newsletters will post on the Superintendent’s page on our website.
Here’s to a positive start to our school year and to new learning opportunities, experiences, friendships, and support.

On behalf of the Board of Education and the School District of Beloit we stand against all forms of systemic and institutional racism. Now more than ever it is necessary for our community’s institutions and organizations to commit to be anti-racist. We are proud of the diversity within the School District of Beloit and we acknowledge the challenges and adversity that so many of our families of color are facing. We are always committed to supporting our students, families, and staff. We are here for you and we are stronger together. #BeloitProud
