Center Grove School Corporation's Speech and Video Contest

Calling all Students in the Center Grove School District!

Sponsored by the Center Grove Education Foundation and the Center Grove Technology Department, you and your child are invited to participate in the first annual "Be an Innovator" Speech and Video contest on April 23, 2014. Participants will prepare a one to three minute speech OR video on one of the following topics:

How do you like to learn and what role does technology play?

What is your idea of a perfect classroom?

What is your advice for your classmates? What would you tell them?

What is your advice for your teacher? How can he/she help you?

Entries for speeches can include multimedia presentation to support the speech. Students may collaborate with their parent on both the speech writing and the video production.

Wednesday, April 23rd, 6pm

Center Grove High School Auditorium

All students will be presenting in front of a panel of judges in the CGHS Auditorium. Students will be judged according to the rubric available at: http://tinyurl.com/cgspeech Learn and get feedback from our guest expert judge: Vic Ryckaert, Indianapolis Star reporter and Lauren Casey, WRTV News.

Students will be entered into one of four categories:

Elementary Video

Elementary Speech

Secondary Video

Secondary Speech

Grand Prize Winners in each category (Elementary Video, Elementary Speech, Secondary Video, Secondary Speech) will receive a Go Pro Hero 3 Camera http://gopro.com/ Other prizes for 2-3 in each category will include a variety of gift cards.

Students presenting a video will introduce their video and the video will be shown in large screen format in auditorium.

The top speech winner will be the introductory keynote speaker at the iPossibilities Conference hosted by the technology department on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. The top video winner will be posted on social media and shown at the iPossibilities Conference.
