GT Nominations
It's GT nomination time! The window will be open from January 24th-February 29th. This nomination window is open for students in 1st-11th Grade. Nomination forms are online this year via a Google Form/QR Code. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
A Gifted and Talented student is defined as a child or youth who performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment (TEC 29.121). Gifted and talented students are found in all cultures, socioeconomic groups, geographic locales, and environments.
Teachers, parents, or counselors may nominate students in grades k-11.
Before a nominated student is screened to determine eligibility, parent permission must be obtained. If you are nominating a student, please let Mrs. Miller know and she will send the permission slip home with the student.
Cutest Valentine Pet
The library is sponsoring the Cutest Valentine Pet with submissions from the faculty and staff. Students are invited to vote for the one that won their heart. It is not an easy task, as they are all special in their own way! The winner will be announced on Valentines Day, so stay tuned for an update!
Pumpkin Jack is Sprouting!
Back in October during Library Specials Elementary students heard the story Pumpkin Jack and talked about the pumpkin life cycle. A pumpkin was carved and placed in a container so students could observe the process. Well, Pumpkin Jack has finally decided to start the process! Woo Hoo! Maybe this year we will get to see a pumpkin bloom!
Wise Words
