Using Chromebooks Responsibly
If your student has a district Chromebook keep these tips in mind:
Chromebooks should be restarted at least once a week.
Improve performance by closing out of any tabs that are not being used. Rather than keeping tabs open, use bookmarks web pages not in Clever for quick access.
Check Chromebook is on the latest district supported version of Chrome OS (currently vs83 or higher ). Go to the URL chrome://help to see which version of Chrome OS is on your Chromebook and update it if necessary.
Get fingerprints off the screen using these Cleaning Best Practices
Attendance
Beginning Wednesday, November 4th, we turned on our automatic attendance calls and emails. This means if your student was marked absent for the day, you will be notified that same evening of the absence. The purpose of these calls and emails is to partner with our families to foster good attendance during remote learning as a foundation for academic success. If you receive a call or email via ParentVue, it indicates that your student was not present for their scheduled zoom class time.
We still want you to contact the Attendance Office at g.crystalsprings.office@nsd.org.
to report an excused absence for your student.
