A PEEK AT THE WEEK

WE HAD A GREAT WEEK! THE PAST TWO WEEKS WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON TURN AROUND FACTS, FRIENDS OF TEN AND MISSING ADDENDS. THESE ARE DIFFICULT MATH TASKS AND ARE NORMALLY TAUGHT 4TH QUARTER. THE STATE REALIGNED THE ORDER OF THE STANDARDS TAUGHT AND THESE WERE FIRST. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOUR CHILD GO ON 10 MARKS EACH NIGHT AND COMPLETE A FEW PROBLEMS TO REINFORCE THE LESSONS TAUGHT IN CLASS. WHEN THEY LOG IN, YOU ARE ABLE TO SEE WHERE THEY MAY BE HAVING DIFFICULTY AND WHAT THEY HAVE MASTERED. THE END OF QUARTER TEST IS ALIGNED WITH 10 MARKS AND IF THEY PRACTICE THE PROBLEMS AT HOME AND THE LESSONS AND MATH GAMES WE DO DAILY IN CLASS SHOULD GIVE THEM A GREAT MATH FOUNDATION.

GUIDED MATH STATIONS IN FULL SWING

MATH GAMES ARE A HUGE PART OF OUR DAILY MATH. AFTER THE MINI LESSON EACH DAY, WE USE WHAT WE PRACTICE WHAT WE LEARNED IN THE MINI LESSON. WE ALSO SPIRAL WHAT IS TAUGHT. THEY PRACTICE STANDARDS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY TAUGHT TO KEEP THEIR PROBLEM SOLVING STRATEGIES FOR EACH TYPE OF PROBLEM FRESH IN THEIR MEMORY. THIS REALLY HELPS THEM THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
