Remote Learning Begins Today!
Here again is the link to the Boone School Remote Learning Plan.
You will find detailed lesson plans for the week on our website www.boone.cps.edu by clicking on the link that says "PK-8 Resources for Remote Learning"
Please note that this Friday, 4/17/20, there will not be any remote learning due to previously planned teacher professional development and online workshops.
Technology for Remote Learning
Boone will be lending Chromebooks and ipads to families who are in need of devices in order for students to engage in remote learning online. Boone has not been issued any new Chromebooks from CPS, so we will be lending the Chromebooks that are currently in the building. During the week of 4/13/20 we will begin the distribution of these devices. Families will be contacted by teachers or administration with an appointment time to pick up the Chromebook.
For your safety and the safety of others, please do not come to the school for a Chromebook without an appointment. Chromebooks will be issued to legal parents/guardians only, by appointment only, and pick-up time slots will be created to maintain proper social distancing at all times. We estimate that it may take several weeks to safely and securely distribute to all students in need. We thank you in advance for your patience throughout this process.
Please click on this Chromebook Request Form if you need to make a request.
All devices will need to be returned to the school once remote learning is over. We will communicate a plan for return at that time.

COVID-19 Info Session with Nurse Dennis Kosuth
For anyone in the Boone community that is interested, school nurse Dennis Kosuth will be conducting an interactive session at 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 16th. He will do a short presentation how families can stay healthy while sheltering in place, the reasoning and importance of safe distancing, and precautions people can take to avoid further transmission of Covid-19. As people may have seen, West Ridge is one of the communities in Chicago which, according to some data, has had higher incidences of people testing positive for Covid-19. This is why it is important for as many people as possible to be educated, so please participate if you can.
