World Language Weekly Update
Week of 4/6-4/10
French 1
Students view a video lesson everyday and practice in the negative sentence structure “ne… pas” while using ‘To Have’ and ‘To Be’ their workbooks. This can be challenging as in French we do not use these two verbs similarly. For example, in French, you have hunger, or you have ‘coldness’. They will also view their favorite media daily in the target language and point out ten words they recognize. Finally they will do 20 minutes of Duolingo everyday.
French 2
Students will continue with Chapter 4. They will view a video lesson everyday and practice their possessive adjectives with their respective gender and number agreements. This is a challenging task since French has so many more possessive adjectives, and students need to practice the agreement it requires with the object and not the subject. New vocabulary will also be introduced! Daily, students will view their favorite media in the target language, and point out ten words they recognize. Finally they will do 20 minutes of Duolingo everyday.
German 1
In addition to ongoing story-based learning in German class, German 1 students will also be working on an Important Person project. Their project may be about someone they know personally, or about a German historical figure.
German 2
Students will finish and submit their poster projects on a German Music artist of their choice. We will continue to play games through our Zoom meetings and will discuss the story they read. We will start with the first chapter of a new story and complete an Edpuzzle. We will have a weekly Flipgrid question for the students to respond to.
Spanish 1
Students will continue working with Family vocab, including extended family. They will receive a vocab drag and drop sheet #2 that they can use for review. They will also do a Edpuzzle with the new vocabulary and continue watching our weekly Spanish drama - Mi vida loca. Friday will be used as a catch up day. Zooming still on Monday and Wednesday.
Spanish 2
Students will continue their unit on giving directions and getting around town. They will learn more vocabulary related to cities and how to tell someone where to go. They will use a map to give directions to someone. We will continue with our March Madness music. Hope your student shared the Baile Viernes video with you. We are aware that Friday will be a catch up day and no new work will be assigned, however we will share Baile Viernes, which is completely optional, but might be a fun family time. Enjoy!
