Fernwood Avenue Middle School
Weekly Newsletter
WEEK OF October 3, 2021
Principal's Message
The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act (P.K.2010, c.122) requires that the week beginning with the first Monday in October of each year be designated as the Week of Respect in New Jersey. School districts observe this week by providing age-appropriate instruction focusing on preventing/remediating harassment, intimidation, and/or bullying.
The Egg Harbor Township School District stands together with all of our students, staff, and families in promoting a positive school climate and culture at each of our schools where civility, respect, and diversity are celebrated.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Coin Lab
Ms. Kupcinski's 6th Grade science classes learned the steps to the Scientific Method while investigating how many drops of water a coin could hold. In this lab, the students transformed in scientists and applied the Scientific Method as they worked through the lab. The students examined even further to analyze how changes in procedures can cause changes in results.
Robotics
Robotics class learned about simple machines with a challenge to build the best vehicles using wheels and axles. We also learned about electricity and complete circuits, making a lightbulb in the classroom using batteries, wiring, and pencils.
