Happy Groundhog's Day!
Well, Ole Phil down in Pennsylvania did not see his shadow so here's to an early spring thaw! As we finish out winter we have lots happening at CMS! Last night was our first grade 8 "Pal"entines dance, students in grade 7 have started a unit on biology that will lead to a Project Lead The Way unit called medical detectives and students switched over to their semester 2 classes. As we mentioned to our grade 8 students this week - we are down to their final 90 days at CMS - it's time to get ready for high school!
On that front course selection is coming soon. NHS will be at CMS to describe the different courses on February 6th and student will have the opportunity to learn about the innovation pathways the following week.
Our grade 8 committee had our first meeting this week and we are starting to lock down those end of year dates. I've posted MCAS and promotion dates below.

Yearbook Request!
Dearest 8th grade parents and guardians, please send us photos of your child and their friends from over the years to put into the blast from the past section of the 8th grade yearbook! Please send it with your child’s name (first and last), age (when the photo was taken), and current team color. It’s a fantastic way to embarrass your little bundles of joy! We know you’ve been waiting to leak these pictures and end their social lives, and this is a great way to do just that! All jokes aside, please send us these photos of your child and friends from when they were younger by February 15th to cmsyearbook@norwood.k12.ma.us. Thank you and Much love, Yearbook club 2023-2024
