Five facts about the coniferous rain forest: 1. Taiga is the Russian term for it. 2. The coniferous forest is probably the worlds largest biome. 3. Coniferous mean cone bearing or coming from cones. 4. Some of the forests trees produce cones and needles. 5. The average summer temperature is 10 degrees Celsius .





Location and Temperature Range

The Taiga is located up North. Like in Canada or Russia. Most of the land is permafrost from the cold tempture. The tempeture can range from negative to freezing.

Precipitation

Most of the precipitation arrives as rain in the summer. The average yearly precipitation is 12 to 33 inches.


PLANTS AND ANIMALS

Plants- firs, moss, lichens, giant sequoia, pines



Animals- bobcat, elk, porcupine, amar tigers, snowshoe hare.
