The Weekly Connection
Updates from the Principal's Office - April 8th, 2023
Message from Mrs. Jones
Happy Saturday! I hope that you have enjoyed a restful week with friends and family. This week's newsletter is coming out a day early to allow for an uninterrupted holiday tomorrow as we prepare for the return to school on Monday.
This week, students in 11th and 12th grades prepare for Smarter Balanced Assessment week, which begins Monday, April 17th. Students in 11th grade are assessed in Math, English, and Science, while students in 12th grade are only assessed in science. These assessments are an opportunity for students to show what they have learned, demonstrate proficiency in state standards, and indicate to colleges and universities that they are ready to perform at college level for placement in courses beginning their freshman year. Please take a moment this week to talk to your student about why these assessments matter, and what they can do to ensure they are ready to dive in on Monday, April 17th!
New CTE Pathway in Healthcare
We are excited to offer a new Career & Technical Education Pathway to students, beginning in the 2023-24 school year! Students interested in learning about the healthcare field/careers in healthcare (EMT, Nurse, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Professional, etc.) should sign up use THIS LINK. Once submitted, a counselor will reach out to discuss scheduling options for next year to accommodate this new pathway!
School Attendance
School attendance is extremely important for student success. In fact, research tells us that positive student attendance links closely to student success and likelihood of graduating on time with peers. Thank you for your support in getting your student to school on time each day- your efforts make a difference!
You Can Help Support PTSA!
“Shoe Us Some Love” this week by bringing your gently used or new shoes to donate! PTSA will be at student drop-off this Friday, April 14th to collect them! See flier in “upcoming events” for more information!
As always, if there is anything you need, please feel free to reach out by telephone at (760) 723-6300 x3102, x3110, or x3103, or by email through our website.
Let's make this a great week, Warriors!
