The Suncrest Snapshot

November 2021

Principal's Message

November is one of my favorite months of the year. The temperature is finally cold in the morning and beautiful during the day. The fall colors are in full swing. And the holidays that are focused on family, gratitude and caring are upon us. We have much to be grateful for here at Suncrest Middle School. We have a wonderful, caring staff from our custodians, our Paraprofessionals, our office staff, to all of our teachers. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to work with all of them and I know your children are in good hands. We have supportive parents and community, with a giving and engaged PTO at the forefront, to which we all say thank you for all that you do to make Suncrest Middle School the highly rated school it is today. And finally, we have incredible students, who challenge themselves every day to learn and be engaged as well as challenging us to become better people. They are why we are here every day!

We are continuing with our Social-Emotional program focus. Lessons will occur every Monday and Friday within homeroom and will be reinforced daily throughout the school environment. The focus for the second six weeks of school is Problem Solving. The goal is for our students to develop the self-confidence in their ability to solve problems in a healthy and productive way. Every Wednesday in homeroom, our students will learn about a different career. In some cases, they will hear from someone in the community that represents the specific career we are researching.

Finally, we are sending home report cards this Wedsneday, November 3, 2021. This report card refelcts the first nine-week grading period. Please have conversations with your student as a result of their hard work. Encourage them to continue their hard work and perhaps renew their dedication to their education.

Wishing you all a wonderful and productive month of November!

Kindest regards,

Principal Hicks

CLUB DAY

We had our first Club Day, Friday, October 29, 2021. This was a great way for our students to explore interests and enrich skill sets already beginning to emerge. We offered everything from intramurals to random acts of kindness clubs. Our students and teachers really had a great time! Our next scheduled Club Day is Friday, November 12, 2021!
