News from Lions Park School
Letter from the Principal
Dear Lions Park Families,
We are looking forward to warmer weather to come! The current forecast shows highs over forty degrees every day for the next week. This warmer weather will enable our students to regularly be back outside at recess. It will also result in mud and puddles in the park and along the walk to the park at recess. Please join us in encouraging your child to pay attention and try to avoid these muddy areas. It may also be a good idea to send dry socks and pants in your child's backpack because we know it can be difficult to always avoid these areas while playing.
Our students and staff continue to engage in meaningful learning activities. Our intermediate students will soon have an opportunity to demonstrate their learning during our state testing. Between Monday, March 11th and Wednesday, March 20th students in third-fifth grades will be taking the new state assessment called the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). The table below shows the testing schedule for your reference. Please try to have your children in attendance and well rested to best help them show what they know on these assessments. Make-up Tests will take place during the week following spring break. For more information on the assessment itself, please view the information found on .
March 15th is the Knots of Love event at Prospect High School. Knots of Love is a very special project for our Lions Park Community because it was started by our student Lauren Graver and continues in her memory. If you and your family are able to come, it would be wonderful to have you join us at the event next Friday. Please see the flyer below.
