Accelerated Reader
The number of points due varies month to month.
August: 4 points
September: 7 points
October: 8 points
November: 8 points
December: 3 points (due December 15)
Students can take tests on their summer reading books!
Students can get ahead (if a student earns 10 points in August, I will apply 6 of those points to September). AR points are due by the last Friday of the month (or December 15th due to the break). If a student gets behind, they can make up points the following month. Points can not be made up for first semester after December 15th, but points over 30 will be rolled over to 2nd semester. AR tests can only be taken at school, and I will happily give students time in class to take the tests.
AR points account for 10% of a student's overall ELA grade.
