FBBC By-Laws to Be Updated

We have decided that it is time to revisit the by-laws to decrease the number of general FBBC meetings in the future. Some out-of-date information will also be updated as needed. Two new committee positions have been added "Summer Popsicles" and "Hydration Coordinator".


Please look for a draft of the Bylaws in an upcoming Band Buzz.


According to our bylaws: Committee Chairs shall, at the end of their term, assist the President with suggestions or recommendations for their successor.

Nominating Committee

Joy King has volunteered to lead the nominating committee…THANK YOU! Our by-laws require that we need at least 3 members to be elected at a general FBBC meeting. Perhaps some senior parents might consider joining Joy in this effort. You won’t have to worry about being “roped in” since your student is graduating. Also, you are likely to know more people in the band. Personally, I did this last year and met a lot of new people this way. I would not mind helping again, but the President cannot be on the nominating committee. Shown below are some of the open positions. There could be others as more people evaluate their situation to decide if they will serve in their current role. Here is a message from Joy:

Uniforms - Boys Full Orchestra Participants

If your son participates in Full Orchestra, he will need a long-sleeved black dress shirt to wear with his black tuxedo jacket and pants. The Orchestra Pre-UIL concert is on Tuesday afternoon, and the boys will need to have their shirts by then if they do not yet have one.

New Marching Uniforms

The band is getting new marching uniforms next year, and the uniform company will be here this Wednesday, March 9 from 9:00-1:30 to take measurements of the students during band class in order to get an idea of the size ranges needed. We need 2 volunteers that day to help record the measurements. If you can help, please let me know.

Band Banquet

We have reserved the large atrium in the Bayou Building at the University of Houston, Clear Lake for the banquet which will take place on Saturday, May 14th (in the evening). This event will include a catered meal, awards ceremony, and entertainment. The purpose is to celebrate student achievement, with a focus on our 28 seniors! It is also a great time for students and parents to socialize and cap off the school year. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend this event.


If you have special talents in event planning that you would like to share, then consider joining this committee! In addition, we will need lots of volunteers at the event itself and will keep you informed as it gets closer.
