Welcome to 2022! - ¡Bienvenido al año 2022!

From the Principal

Hello Inlet View Families!

Welcome back from Winter Break! I hope that you all had a restful and relaxing time off.

It is amazing to note that we are in the second semester of the school year already!!

We finished 2021 with our winter assessment period and it is exciting to report that our students are making great gains in the areas of Reading and Math. These tests help us to determine if our instructional program is working for each individual student and, if not, we look at how we can make changes for success. Our teachers will be meeting within the next couple of weeks to review every child's data and instructional program to make decisions for the rest of the year. It's pretty exciting to be able to support ALL of our students!!

Report cards for the second quarter will go home this Friday. Although we don’t meet with teachers and parents this time, conferences are coming up in mid-February. If you have any questions or comments regarding grades at this time, please contact your child’s teacher. There's no need to wait for the conference period-we are here to answer questions and provide any support needed.

I’m excited for the rest of the year as we continue to support student achievement here at

Inlet View! This is such a wonderful place to be for students and I can tell you that our

staff enjoys being here as well. We are constantly complimented by visitors for our stellar

student body. Thank you for sharing your children with us!!!

Wishing you the best,

IB Learner Profile of the month : OPEN MINDED

Students who are OPEN-MINDED critically appreciate their own cultures and personal histories, as well as the values and traditions of others. They seek and evaluate a range of points of view, and are willing to grow from the experience.

How can parents help to develop students who are open minded at home?

·• Encourage your child to try new things – new foods, new games, and new activities.

• Expose your child to different festivals, celebrations, and traditions, and be sure to present them in a non-judgmental way.

• Encourage your child to really listen to others when they speak.

• Introduce literature about many different cultures into your home library. Be sure that it is appropriate and reflects the culture in an appropriate way.

• When you observe your child being Open-Minded, reinforce this positive behavior and use the PYP Learner Profile terms.
