Striving for Excellence: ILEARN ELA
Strengthen Instruction and Prepare Students in Grades 6-8
The Southern Indiana Education Center intentionally plans high-quality and essential ELA professional learning throughout the school year. We have taken elements from these opportunities and included the latest information from the IDOE to provide a targeted day of support for Grade 6 through 8 ELA teachers. Our goal is to provide every teacher with practical insights to strengthen daily instruction and guidance to prepare all students as we learn together about the new Indiana assessment, ILEARN.
Learning Intentions:
- Examine the new ILEARN blueprints and become familiar.
- Explore IDOE resources to become comfortable with the new assessment
- Explore the skills needed for surface, deep, and transfer learning to move students to higher-order thinking skills.
- Understand the implications of a computer adaptive testing approach.
Please plan on joining us on June 28, 2018 for this initial face-to-face session at the SIEC office. See below for more information!
