From the Nurse...
Cold weather has arrived which means some days you may be stuck indoors. Through games and activities your child can learn some important social skills such as turn taking and cooperation. Board games such as Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders are great games that require turn taking . Hide and seek is also a great game you can play to help teach your child the concept of turn taking. Activities such as puzzles, blocks, and pretend play can help teach the concept of cooperation when played with others. When playing the games or activities, you can talk to your child about the particular skill and praise them for a job well done!
- We do not have classroom Valentine's party at ECEC. Instead we spend class time doing fun hands on educational activities involving hearts, friendship and social skills.
- Our next family fun night is April 11th. Please make plans to attend.
- You may send in valentine's with your child to exchange with their friends. Your teacher will be sending home information.

Heart Healthy Month is February!
Our students will engage in fun activities the week of February 5th thru 9th to learn how to keep their bodies active and hearts healthy. We are participating in Jump Rope for Heart. This program teaches heart-healthy habits and helps the American Heart Association raise money for research and education that savelives. More information will be coming home the first week of February.
- If your child arrives late to school, you must sign them in at the office.
- Please put your child's name on anything sent to school. Any paperwork, coats, etc.
- We have a Lost and Found. If your child is missing an item, please stop by the office.
The Nightly Reading Record Sheet is an amazing way to make sure reading is a priority in your house. When your child returns any monthly reading calendar completely filled in, at any time, they will receive a fun book. If they complete 6 calendars in the school year, they will get to pick a book from our “library,” Ms. Kelly will read it to them, and then they get to take it home. The Record sheet can be found and printed here
“Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.”
